Learn the Language of Support | Health Promotion Board

Young Singaporeans are book smart. We’re taught to find the right answers.

But what happens when there isn’t one?

When someone we care about is struggling, the fear of saying the wrong thing can leave us saying nothing at all.

So we reframed support as a subject that Singaporeans can also learn.

‘Learn the Language of Support’ uses familiar educational cues to teach a language of listening, staying present and simply being there.

Case film

Our narrative film gave a practical lesson on support, and told a story straight out of real life. Special shoutout to bus 196.

We turned our key visuals into “question and answer” tests.

We placed them at locations where young Singaporeans hang out with friends.

On social, we helped them practise every day, so they could become fluent in the language of support.
